Travel Clinic
There is currently a nationwide shortage of the Yellow Fever Vaccine. If you will be traveling to an area that requires this vaccine, it is imperative that you contact Student Health Services for a travel appointment as soon as possible.
University Student Health Services offers in-depth pre-travel consultation with a health care provider as well as most of the vaccines recommended for safe travel. Prescriptions for recommended medicines are also available.
What You Need To Do
At least 6 to 8 weeks prior to your departure date, call Student Health Services at 828-8828 (Monroe Park Campus) or 828-9220 (MCV Campus) to schedule a travel appointment.
MCV Campus: You must complete the travel history form before the appointment. The form will be reviewed and an email with recommendations will be sent to you prior to the travel appointment.
Monroe Park Campus: You can complete the travel history form at the time of the travel appointment. An appointment with our immunization nurse will follow the travel appointment.
Special consultation appointments are available for groups of students who will provide either health care or other services abroad and for study abroad programs. A group spokesperson is encouraged to contact Student Health to arrange a group consultation.
Vaccines should be received at least thirty days before the risk of exposure for optimal benefit. It is important to make your appointment well in advance of your trip.
