Patients Requesting Initial Evaluation
Initial Evaluation for ADHD is not offered by Student Health or University Counseling.
A comprehensive evaluation by a Mental Health specialist is required if patient would like care through USHS. A list of specialists in the Richmond area is available by request. The cost of the evaluation is the responsibility of the student. Students are encouraged to discuss coverage with their insurance companies.
Patients requesting treatment
If student has never been seen by USHS for ADHD, they are asked to present a recent (within 3 years) written evaluation and diagnosis of ADHD prior to appointment date for review by a staff physician.
This evaluation can be left at the front desk of USHS or faxed to the clinic at (804) 828-1093. Please attention to Dr. Bekenstein.
Once the evaluation is reviewed, an appointment can be made with Dr. Nelson or Dr. Bekenstein to discuss a treatment plan, if appropriate.
