Renovation of the Cary St Gym began in early 2008, and you can look forward to an expanded and upgraded facility in Spring 2010. The gym will feature many new amenties, listed below.
A new outdoor basketball court is available, accessible from Cary Street Field. It is located next to the Mary and Frances Youth Center and the Outing Rental Center.

Dining Services

Renovation of the MCV Campus Recreation & Aquatic Center began in early 2008, and will be completed in August of 2009.
The entrances to the MCV Campus Recreation & Aquatic Center have been relocated due to construction. The entrance to both the Recreation Center and the Aquatic Center is now located at the back of the building, on Duval Street.
Turpin Street between 9th and 10th Streets is currently closed, and North 9th Street is now a two-way street.

The Cary Street Gym closed in December 2007 for renovation and new construction. Renovation began in early 2008. You can look forward to an expanded and upgraded facility in Spring 2010.
During construction, Cary Street Field is open for Intramural Sports, Club Sports, informal recreation and athletics.
The Outing Rental Center/Outdoor Adventure Program is located at 130 South Linden Street, just past the Mary and Frances Youth Center. Trip registration, pre-trip meetings and equipment rental are all available at this location.

The Jonah L. Larrick Student Center is open as of November 2. This completely rebuilt facility features a ballroom, a conference room and two meeting rooms. Starbucks is also opening at this time and is offering product samples during their first week of operation. In addition, the new main entrance to the MCV Campus Recreation and Aquatic Center is now open, with RecPass access available at the turnstiles. Larrick Student Center also features ample indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate diners and small gatherings.
The main entrance is located near the compass at 9th and Turpin Streets, providing convenient access to Cabaniss Hall, Low Rise residence halls, and the 8th Street parking deck,and a short walk from the VCU Campus Connector’s stop at the MCV Campus B&N Bookstore.
University Student Commons & Activities is now accepting reservations for meeting and event rooms. Meeting and event space is available for reservation to STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ONLY through November 1, 2009. Student organizations should log into the Virtual-EMS system to make reservations.
Please note that Larrick will not be open for events until November 16, 2009. At this time, we are only accepting requests for events for the remainder of the 2009 Fall Semester (November 16-December 18, 2009) and the 2010 Spring Semester.
In January, VCU Dining Services will open Jonah’s, a food court style dining facility. Grand Opening is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2010, with Grand Opening events taking place throughout the facility during the following days.

As of Sept. 22, 2009: The MCV Campus Recreation Center is now reopened, with a fully renovated fitness center and East locker rooms. The entrance to the facility is temporarily on Duval Street.
