Virginia Commonwealth University Career Center offers a variety of services to assist employers in their recruiting efforts. These services are designed to connect employers with students in a timely efficient manner, while aiding in the fulfillment of the student's career development. The University Career Center at Virginia Commonwealth University provides opportunities for students and recent alumni to explore and pursue a wide variety of career options. Among the opportunities afforded are recruitment visits, career fairs and access to job postings.

Employing organizations that recruit Virginia Commonwealth University students and recent alumni are expected to follow the Principles of Professional Conduct (1998) established by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Job Posting

Career-Related Positions
Career-related positions can be posted to the web through the Career Center's on-line job posting service, RamsRecruiting. This site is part of the eRecruiting/Experience system. By becoming an employer who is linked to VCU, you will be able to submit your requests online. In addition, you will have access to your personal account in order to make revisions or to view the resumes of applicants. When a request is received, your organization is researched. If a request is approved, a username and password are generated for you by the system. To submit a request, visit www.students.vcu.edu/careers/
Click on RamsRecruiting, click "Employers login here" and then "Create an account."

General Positions (i.e. part-time, seasonal, positions not degree related)
For a position that is more general in nature, please complete the Employer Services Request Form. General positions remain active for at least one month. If you wish to extend this time period, kindly contact the recruitment assistant at (804) 828-1645.

Fees
The Career Center does not charge to post a position. We do, however, ask that employers notify the recruitment coordinator when a position has been filled and the name of any VCU candidate who was hired.

Cooperative Education

Employ highly motivated students from all academic disciplines to work in your organization. Co-op students can work part-time by combining work and study, or they can alternate semesters of work and study.

Positions must be paid and related to the student's academic studies. You set the criteria for each position. See the coordinator contact list, to discuss arranging a co-op experience within your organization.

Time Period: Year round

On-Campus Recruiting

Interview candidates for co-ops, internships or full-time permanent positions, and visit the campus to make presentations to students.

This service offers employers an opportunity to interview candidates for full-time permanent positions, co-ops and internships on-site at the VCU Career Center. Employers can pre-screen candidate resumes and invite them for interviews. All schedules are created and advertised through our web-based system, RamsRecruiting. Recruiting Events

Federal Work-Study

Departments at VCU and qualifying nonprofit employers may list positions open to students with federal work-study awards as part of their financial aid packages. Employers may log in here to post a position.
